Fights in production

Hey people nice forum... glad I found it. I'm looking for feedback and information on fights within production for a website dedicated to just that. If anyone out there has any questions regarding the matter of fights get in touch. www.fightdirector.com is run by myself and gives completely free info on matters relating to weapons, rehearsal times, laws etc. I believe in guerilla filmaking and have been out there doing it. Nice site,
but recently I made a movie and I told the actors to fight like little children, they didn't even hit eachother but on film it looked damn good.

Thanks for the reply... It doesn't take much to make a fight look good, it's really about ACTING at the end of the day. If the intent is there it should be convincing. When guns and big sharp things come ito play it becomes more about safety than anything else, which is why I devote a section to that.
I've been thinking about the fencing skills bit and I'm not sure if I'm going to post that section... I'm thinking an acting section in it's stead. As you'll be aware if you fence, it's maybe not something you can pick up easily from the web.
Ask you anything? OK, what's the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow? Or did you mean ask you anything about fencing? Is a balestra a preperation for attack or a piece of compound footwork. You don't have to answer if you think I'm just trying to trick you... cheers Carter.
